High school HOSA students qualify for international competition

Three Pattonville High School students qualified to compete at the international HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America) competition this summer after earning awards at the state level. In total, six Pattonville students competed at the Missouri HOSA State Leadership Conference on March 28-29 in Rolla, Missouri. 

Qualifying for the international competition were Keilah Wilkes after earning second place in Pharmacology Knowledge Test and Loudin Cato and Dominique Bradshaw for placing second in Medical Innovation.

Sydney Suvansri received fifth place in Pathophysiology Knowledge Test and Ponon Masokano (Prepared Speaking) and Abigail Mesfin (Research Poster) participated in the event while Lauren Marsala had qualified in Extemporaneous Writing.

Additionally, Sasha Grant and Rana Qasem (Health Career Display), Nia Warren (Medical Terminology), Akasha Figueroa Rosario (Clinical Nursing) and Surya Johnson (Dental Terminology) took part in the first round testing/qualifier event for the state competition held in February. 

HOSA's International Leadership Conference will be held June 22-25 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Jamie Jobe is Pattonville’s PLTW - Project Lead The Way biomedical science teacher and is the club’s sponsor.
