Students from Pattonville’s elementary schools and Remington Traditional School participated in the annual Districtwide Elementary Mark Twain Book Battle today at the Learning Center. The two teams from Willow Brook Elementary claimed first and second place and a team from Bridgeway Elementary finished in third.
The book battle is a trivia-type competition hosted by Pattonville's school library technology specialists. During the event, teams of students compete on their knowledge of a predesignated list of books.
Surprise visits took place around Pattonville School District on March 30 as finalists were announced for the 2021-2022 Teacher and Support Staff of the Year awards. Winners of the Teacher and Support Staff Rookie of the Year awards were also revealed.
Pattonville voters gave their support to Pattonville's Proposition S on the April 5 election ballot. Prop S is a $111 million no-tax-rate-increase bond issue, which will fund projects at every school in Pattonville, including adding classrooms to address growth in student enrollment; providing safety and maintenance improvements; and updating school facilities to meet teaching and learning needs. Approval of the bond issue will not increase the district's tax rate.
March Madness is here! Elementary teams battled it out for the district title on Friday and Monday at the fifth grade intramural basketball tournament hosted at Pattonville Heights Middle School.
Teams from Bridgeway, Drummond, Parkwood, Rose Acres and Willow Brook competed in the inaugural season of the intramural league organized by the Pattonville Community Programs and developed by Drummond PE teacher Caleb Stroop.
“When I first got here, I noticed we didn't have anything at this level so this was kind of my mission from the very beginning,” he said. “Basketball has had such a huge impact on my life and I just wanted to kind of share that with the kids.”
