Pirate Sports Net class livestreams winter sports
Wednesday, January 17, 2018
Students in the Pirates Sports Net class at Pattonville High School are at it again. As they did in the fall with varsity football home games, the students are livestreaming some winter sports games for Pirate fans who can’t make the games in person.

The students livestream the action on the PattonvilleTODAY Facebook page. PattonvilleTODAY is Pattonville High School's multi-media platform that showcases the work of its student journalists. To watch online, visit Facebook and "like" PattonvilleTODAY to watch the games in real time via livestreaming. The next confirmed livedstreamed game will be a boys/girls double-header basketball game against Webster Groves on Feb. 16. The girls game begins at 5:30 p.m. and the boys game at 7 p.m. The students may livestream other games as they are able to schedule them.

The livestreaming for the games is presented by students in the Pirate Sports Net class, which provides sports news and content for PattonvilleTODAY. The class is new this year and is focused on "the art of sports storytelling, how to go behind the players' stats and game scores to report compelling stories, how to break news across multiple platforms and what sports and media mean to our society."
